Benefits Mandated by New York State Law or Federal Law - New York State Short Term Disability Insurance, New York State Worker's Compensation Insurance, New York State Unemployment Insurance, Federal Social Security and Medicare, Federal Family Medical Leave Act
Direct Deposit - All LDA employees are eligible to have their payroll directly deposited into any account(s) they choose in any bank or credit union.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - LDA pays 100% of the cost for all employees to participate in this program. EAP is a confidential service which provides counseling for the employee or any member of his/her immediate family.
Parking - LDA provides free parking to all staff in our designated parking lot.
Health Insurance - LDA pays 100% of the cost of a single health insurance policy (lowest cost plan offering) for full-time employees. LDA pays a pro-rated portion of the cost of a single health insurance policy for part-time employees. Employees must work at least a 20-hour standard work week to be eligible for health insurance benefits. Employees must pay for the cost of additional family members or partners covered on their health insurance.
Dental Insurance - LDA pays 100% of the cost of a single dental insurance policy for full-time employees. LDA pays a pro-rated portion of the cost of a single dental insurance policy for part-time employees. Employees must work at least a 20-hour standard work week to be eligible for dental insurance. Employees must pay for the cost of additional family members or partners covered on their dental insurance.
Cafeteria Plan - Any employee who contributes toward the cost of insurances is eligible to participate in the cafeteria plan and have these costs deducted from his/her payroll on a pretax basis.
Retirement Plan - LDA provides a retirement plan for all eligible employees. Eligibility consists of a standard work week of at least 20 hours, employment of at least one year, and employment on December 31st. The plan is a tax-deferred annuity plan (403b). Employees are eligible to make pretax contributions toward retirement as soon as they have opened an account. LDA also will contribute an amount equal to 5% of an employee's salary after a one-year waiting period.
Flexible Spending Account (FSA) - LDA offers an FSA to all eligible employees. Eligibility consists of a standard work week of at least 20 hours and a 90-day waiting period after date of hire. FSAs allow employees to set aside money from their payroll on a pre-tax basis to use for non-reimbursed medical and dental expenses and for child or adult care.
Paid Time Off (PTO) - All new full-time employees accrue 33 days (264 hours) of PTO per year. Part-time employees accrue a pro-rated amount of PTO based on the number of standard hours worked. This includes 12 Holidays and 21 additional days that the employee can use for any purpose (vacation, sick time, bereavement, home repairs, a day in the park, etc.). Additional PTO hours per year are accrued based on years of service.
Long-Term Health Reserve - LDA annually adds up to 24 hours of time to each eligible employee's health reserve. Eligibility consists of a standard work week of at least 20 hours, employment of at least one year, and employment on December 31st. Amounts are pro-rated for part-time employees. This bank of time can be used for any illness which exceeds five days. The time can be used for employees themselves or to care for immediate family members.
Life and Accidental Death and Dismemberment (AD and D) Insurance - LDA pays 100% of the cost of a single life and AD and D insurance policy for all eligible employees (work at least a 20-hour standard work week). The insurance benefit is equal to two times an employee's annual salary.
Jury Duty - All eligible employees (work at least a 20-hour standard work week) will be paid their regular payroll for up to two weeks of jury duty.
Military Leave - All employees will be granted time off as required by federal law to serve in any branch of the Armed Forces of the United States. All eligible employees (work at least a 20-hour standard work week) will be paid the difference between their normal rate of pay and their military pay for up to two weeks each year.
Enhanced Short Term Disability Insurance and Cancer Insurance (Optional) - LDA offers enhanced short-term disability and cancer insurance for all eligible employees (work at least a 20-hour standard work week). Eligible employees pay the full premium costs associated with these benefits. Premium rates vary depending on variables such as age, salary, waiting period, etc. These benefits are available by appointment with the insurance vendor during the agency's open enrollment period.
